A fantastic little gem. Was drawn by the sweet smell of cakes and bread. Serving greate sandwiches (there is better varieties of food than seen at first sight). Sitting here with the smell of fresh baked goods, a cake and tea was just perfection.

It’s a cute bakery where you can see the baker work. We had the bread with sausage (good but quite dense) and some cake with nuts (a bit dry but still tasty). They have like 4 tables so it gets crowded but people move pretty fast so we got our table before ordering. A good choice for breakfast in Obidos.

YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE! Amazing fresh bread, or have bread with chorizo… but if you are HUNGRY, get the bifana with sweet potato chips. It’s a pork sandwich with lettuce and tomato on a crusty bun. Comes with a juicy slice of melon. Wow!! Finish with espresso, ginja (pron: gin-jah), a local cherry liqueur or, a variety of sweets. Plus the staff is quick, friendly and direct (as Portuguese are)!

This place does have the most unique bread flavours. Tried the sweet potato one and that was good! Just very tasty bread. Great customer service as well, very patient with us, espeywhen shop was getting full, overall, definitely worth paying a visit.

The only bakery in Óbidos with a wood-fired oven! This spot was recommended by a local and has a truly authentic feel. I was lucky to arrive just as the fresh bread came out of the oven. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich with butter — it was absolutely delicious and large enough to share. A must-visit in the city!

The sweet coconut bread is absolutely delicious and definitely worth trying. The bread is light and fluffy! It pairs perfectly with a cup of coffee!Best place to grab a coffee and some fine breads in Óbidos. If you are rally hungry, try the chorizo bread.

The good: Fresh breads and pastries made daily. They had 7-8 options to choose from, ranging from cheese and meat filled mini-loaves to sweet, walnut-and-orange spiced buns. Many of the choices were great, but our favorite was the simple, buttered mini-loaf. It was hot and the butter melted in the middle. The dough was flaky on the outside yet soft in the middle, and was more than big enough to split (along with the other things we tried). We loved it so much we went back later that day!
The not-so-good: One of the buns was forgettable compared to the rest, and the staff knew limited English (which isn't a fault, but worth noting).

Delicious! I got the sandwich special, it came with bacon, ham, cheese and lettuce and it was HUGE! SO YUMMY THOUGH! We can't in because it suddenly hailed/rained and I'm so happy we did! Bread was cute l chewy and soft, but had a nice crust to it. The brownie was less traditional "American brownie" flavor, but still dense and chocolatey and that was delicious as well. I recommend just a sandwich and no potato fries, as it was a lot of food. But very well priced. I think we paid a little less than 18 euros and it was worth every bit.Resposta do proprietário

Highly recommend going here!! Best cafe/bakery I've ever been to! You can see them making bread and pastries fresh and the staff is so kind and friendly! We got breakfast here and loved it all! I highly recommend the chocolate croissant, chorizo bread, and coconut pastry! We also had the apple, orange, and honey walnut pastries! They were so good we went back and got more for the road after! Cappuccinos here we're also creamy, super delicious and no sugar needed! Such a quaint town and this bakery was the best and in an amazing location!Love this bakery. Old style bread and tea, coffee. You can feel like very old city. I had espresso with orange bread which looks like poundcake. So good. Price was reasonable and tasty was good. You can take rest with these delicious breads.
Just a simply pastry shop and cafe. The pastry are so tasty and you can smell it from the street. You won‘t miss it. It is because they are continously making the pastries so they are always fresh. You must try the belinhas , they are so good. There are always lineup, but there are tables in the cafe for everyone. Highly recommend.
Amazing experience with fresh, warm bread and the tastiest sweets! Service was great, very polite and friendly staff. We went there for breakfast and had to return before leaving Óbidos to have some more! 100% recommend ❤️

We love living in Óbidos and every day, we walk around the village and as part of the itinerary we always pass by Capinha d'Óbidos.
And why you ask? As Portuguese citizens there is nothing better than buying local bread or traditional confectionery made in a wood oven 😋
Capinha d'Óbidos has been open for about 8 years, but the recipe that gave the house its name is at least 135 years old, Anabela Capinha inherited the recipe from her great-grandmother, baptizing it with her family name, a recipe shared between generations. The Capinha's were given and shared among friends and relatives on feast days, and thus Capinha was born, which today is as genuine as on the first day: kneaded by hand and cooked in a wood-fired oven.
In addition to the famous Capinha, there are other delicacies of the house, from the simple bun to the always-desired bread with chorizo and also the corn bread, in addition to a wide range of traditional cookies, the sweet potato or honey and walnut (our favorites), everything is made "in loco" and often you have the privilege of seeing the entire process and if you arrive at the right time, you can still taste it fresh out of the oven.
It is undoubtedly a must-stop for anyone visiting Óbidos. We always recommend our guests to visit and it is without a doubt always a very rich experience, it is not every day that you have the chance to see someone hands-on and to be able to delight in homemade and so traditional products, something you rarely see these days.
Thank you for making us feel like part of the family, always treated with great affection, by Anabela, Abílio and all the staff without exception, thank you so much and see you tomorrow 🙏🏻!Resposta do proprietário
